For whatever reason, when people start collecting Bettie Page, they go
after Klaw photos (I think it's the name!). I am not going to bore you
with the story of the brother and sister team of Irving and Paula Klaw
except to say that in order to save money, Paula eventually took over
the photographic duties and the Klaws were part of a 1950s pornography
witch hunt spearheaded by that irascible fellow
Estes Kefauver
which eventually caught up with Bettie Page. I originally thought the
Klaws only used B&W film until I found gorgeous color 3D slides of
Bettie Page taken at the Klaw studio. The last B&W photo was used for
publication in PRIVATE PEEKS and is not Bettie Page but possibly
Kevin Daley. I believe it is a Klaw photo so included it in this section
for historical purposes.
